A Simple but Powerful Practice

Based on the latest research, we'd like to share a simple gratitude practice that you can easily incorporate into your daily life. Instead of merely listing things we're thankful for, this science-based approach is more focused and potentially more powerful.


Here's how to do it:

  • Choose Your Story: Think of a meaningful time when:

    • Someone thanked you sincerely for something you did, OR

    • You witnessed someone expressing gratitude to someone else

  • Write Your Anchors: Jot down three or four notes about your memory:

    • How you felt before the moment

    • How you felt afterward

    • Any details that made the moment meaningful

  • Daily Practice: Take 1-5 minutes to:

    • Read your memory notes

    • Close your eyes and feel that experience of gratitude

    • Let yourself fully appreciate that moment


Making It Work for You

The beauty of this practice is its flexibility. You can do it:

  • Any time of day that works for you

  • Sitting in your favorite chair

  • Before joining friends for dinner

  • While enjoying your morning coffee

  • Before bed


Aim to practice three times per week. That's all it takes to start experiencing benefits!
